Artist Talk: Soli Pierce and Carol Bouyoucos: “Eternal Cycle: Nature and Art in Creative Collaboration”

Join Soli Pierce and Carol Bouyoucos for a conversation about how nature informs their work and the creative collaboration with the environment both artists maintain through their practices. The talk is in conjunction with Soli Pierce’s solo exhibition Stillness Speaks and with the BAU Invitational, which features Carol Bouyoucus’ piece Apocalypse.

About Soli Pierce: A 2025 Artist-in-Residence at KinoSaito (NY) and Jentel (WY), Pierce recently collaborated with sonic artist Bruce Odland on Sound Forest, presented at the Hammond Museum, ArtsWestchester, and KinoSaito Arts Center (2024–2025). Her work has been featured in The New York TimesThe Village Voice, and Ars Electronica, with exhibitions across the U.S. and Europe. About Carol Bouyoucos: Calling her work “post-photographic explorations into a hypothetical natural world," Bouyoucos unsettles the narrative of humanity as in control of nature. She has shown widely throughout the Northeast in numerous solo and group exhibitions. Her residencies include the Truro Center for the Arts at Castle Hil (2025) and Rural Residency for Contemporary Art (Valcamonica, Italy; 2022).
