Fresh off of the release of his experimental EP: Paul’s Promise (A Dedication to Paul Robeson and the Peekskill Riots), Steve Frieder presents a live solo-saxophone improvisation at BAU Gallery. Colored by multi-genre mastery, the Hudson Valley native’s recent foray into solo performance represents a shift toward expressionism and a personal artistic voice. Enhanced by electronic effects and extended techniques, Frieder explores themes of suffering, existentialism and freedom in a musical presentation calling on the steps of performance art.
