Daniel Berlin
“My work is process-orientated, favoring a non-conceptual view, keeping an eye out for hidden authenticities, for occasional moments of ‘recognition.’ These poetic flashes offer a genuine contact between viewer and art.”
In his new show at BAU Gallery in Beacon, NY, Swallowing the Sun, the familiar symbol of the sun is extended to reflect on the mind of the artist and the viewer. The show suggests an inseparable link between mind and art. When mind is uncluttered, it enhances both the creation and viewing of art. It poses the question, how to swallow the sun and not get burned?
Daniel Berlin received double B.S. degrees in both Painting and Psychology from Illinois State University and a MFA degree in Fine Arts (Painting) from the University of Colorado. He is primarily a painter as well as an avid practitioner of monotyping.
He works and lives with his family in the Hudson Valley (Accord, NY).
