To the shapes that guide us home.

BAU Gallery invites artists to apply to our annual Juried show with work that relates to visual interpretations of: “The Shape of Things”

Submission guidelines:
Size restrictions: 36 inches in any direction Value should not exceed $10,000
All artwork must be ready to hang. No grid work will be considered. Accepted work must be ready to be hung at the time of exhibition.
The gallery has the authority to turn away any work that is not ready to be hung, that differs from the original accepted work, or is not suitable for gallery installation.

Showdates: August 10th - September 8th, 2024
Opening reception:
Saturday, August 10th. 6-8 pm
Jury Fee: $40 for 3 submissions

Entry deadline: midnight 7/3/24

Notification acceptance: 7/10/24

Drop off of work: Accepted works must be dropped off and picked up from the gallery (no exceptions)
Sunday 8/4 6-8pm, Monday 8/5 6-8pm and Tuesday 8/6 6-8pm

Pick up of work: Sunday 9/8 6-8pm and Monday 9/9/ 3-8pm

Prizes:
1st price one month Solo show in the 2025 exhibition calendar at BAU gallery*
Honorable mentions- a joint two person show in the Beacon Room at BAU Gallery during the 2025 show calendar*
*month will be selected by the gallery

JUROR
Mikiko Ino President, Director, and Chairperson of KinoSaito Art Center
Mikiko Ino was born in Japan. Always inspired by the world of Art & Fashion she established the fashion buying consulting company, LLJ USA Inc. in 1990. She later moved to New York City where she continued to discover emerging designers and work with high-end designers like Oscar De La Renta, and introduced them to Japanese retailers. In 2007, Mikiko met and later married Kikuo Saito, a Japanese-born American abstract painter with ties to the Color Field movement and Lyrical abstraction. Following Saito’s death in 2016, she founded KinoSaito Art Center in 2018. Mikiko has given new life to the former St.Patrick school building, turning it into a paradise for art lovers which outlives its original purpose while retaining its historic features. The Center has become a special nexus, housing art galleries, a multipurpose performance space, two beautiful studios for rotating resident artists, a classroom for arts education and public programs.
